Export All Tags from PI Vision and AF. Finally, Full Visibility at Your Fingertips.

We’re excited to announce a powerful new capability in Osprey:
You can now export a complete list of all PI Tags and AF Attributes used across PI Vision and PI Asset Framework.

If you’ve ever tried to answer the question,

“Which tags are being used in our PI Vision displays?”
or
“What tags are tied to this AF database we’re about to migrate?”
…you know how painful that question can be.

There’s no native way in PI Vision or AF Explorer to get this information cleanly, let alone at scale.

Why This Matters

1. Migrations Without Blind Spots
Whether you’re moving PI Vision displays to a new server, consolidating AF databases, or decommissioning a PI Data Archive, you need to know what’s connected before you pull the plug. This export gives you the full inventory, so you know exactly what tags and attributes are in use.

2. Troubleshooting PI Vision Issues
If users report a display “isn’t updating” or “seems off,” you no longer have to manually dig through each display to guess what tags are used. Just run the export, filter by display or attribute, and get straight to the source.

3. Auditing, Cleanup, and Governance
Need to know which tags are still active? What tags are being used across multiple AF templates? What displays reference stale or retired tags? These exports give you the foundation for smart cleanup and governance workflows.
